This is a privately-owned Kansas lake located off of Highway 54 just 11.2 miles west of Fort Scott, 1 3/4 miles west of the Redfield turn or 3 miles east of the Uniontown turn. A lake sign and windmill are visible north of the highway and mark the entrance to the lake.

Caleb Collison, NE, and Abby Ayre, KS, capsize in a rented 24 ft. fiberglass Span America vessel on July 3rd, 2007.

"Plans to recover the vessel have not yet been made", says Don Ayre,
spokesman of Lake Frances. "It will probably make a great Bass Haven!"
